About

Elements Design is a full-service interior design firm serving the Philadelphia area owned by Janet Gardner Long.  I provide color consultations, space planning, fabric and finish selections, furniture specification and purchasing, custom millwork and drapery design, and design for more substantial renovations including bathrooms and kitchens.  My projects reflect my transitional style that incorporates design classics with an updated style, and my love of unique finishes and materials.

I have my certificate in Interior Design from Philadelphia University, my MBA from Northwestern's Kellogg Graduate School of Business, and my BA from Princeton University.  In the first part of my career, I worked for Leo Burnett Advertising in Chicago and was the Marketing Director for the Innovation Group at Diamond Consultants.  At both places I worked extensively on graphic design projects including corporate identity work, a first-of-its kind website for a book launch, and design of all of the marketing materials for a series of executive seminars.

After my oldest son was born, I decided to make a career transition into interior design and capitalize on my prior graphic design experience.  I took a job with Barbara Gisel Design in Haverford PA while attending Philadelphia University at night for my interior design certificate, and later worked as the lead Project Manager for NorthStar Advisors on the Sunoco and Towers Perrin headquarters relocation projects in Philadelphia.  In 2006, I joined my former partner Jessica Berry (now at BAMO) at Elements Design.

With a background in both design and project management, I believe I bring a unique set of skills to a project that most interior designers simply do not have.  I understand the importance of melding the creative aspects of design with accurate scheduling, budgeting, and a high level of communication to ensure that my clients are as delighted with their design solutions as they are with the process itself.

I am also the founder of the Clover Market, an upscale vintage outdoor art and antiques market which launched in the spring of 2010 Ardmore, PA.  I live in Ardmore with my husband and two boys.
